This house bat is recorded across western and central Africa. HMW lists a range from Senegal and Gambia east to northern Cameroon, the Central African Republic, Sudan, and Ethiopia.
The fur is sleek, smooth, and soft. The back ranges from yellowish or greenish brown to orange-brown; the underside is pale to medium yellow and is described as never whitish.
HMW gives separate habitat records: broken gallery forest along a river in the Central African Republic, and a Ghanaian mosaic of grassland, thickets, savanna trees, and areas near a waterhole.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
