The Namib Long-eared Bat is recorded in arid parts of Namibia. Its distinction from the close relative Laephotis wintoni is uncertain in some records, and appearance alone may not identify it reliably.
Laephotis bats have long ears and a triangular tragus. The assessment cautions that these features alone do not reliably separate L. namibensis from its close relative.
By day it roosts in narrow vertical cracks in rocks. It flies low over water or the ground near vegetation and feeds on insects, including moths and beetles.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
