This small bat is known from central southwestern Madagascar. All five specimens discussed in the 2006 paper were found outside forest; the first was caught in dry open savanna beside a stream bordered by palms.
The back is dark brown. Hairs on the underside are sharply two-colored, gray and dark buff, and become paler toward the tail.
The holotype was caught beside a palm-lined stream in dry open savanna. Two other specimens came from open riparian habitat, and two more from riparian woodland with mango trees.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
