This bat has a gray to gray-brown back and a broad horseshoe-shaped fold of skin on the muzzle. Confirmed records come from East Africa, including Kenya; it hunts insects in woodland and riverside areas.
The back is gray to grayish brown and the underside slightly paler. A long, subtriangular lancet with a rounded tip and a broad horseshoe-shaped noseleaf covers the muzzle. Males lack axillary tufts.
HMW9 reports insect hunting by perching and by slow flight under canopies in woodland and riverside areas, often close to the ground or just above understory plants. It also forages near buildings and leafy corridors beside water.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
