At Paracou in French Guiana, most adult and subadult specimens had a grizzled-gray back contrasting with a blackish head. The 2001 field report records animals at night, on the ground and in trees.
Most adult and subadult skins from Paracou were uniformly grizzled gray across the back, contrasting with the blackish head. One skin was slightly darker along the middle of the back. The ears were whitish only at the base and otherwise mostly black.
In the 2001 Paracou report, all encountered animals were recorded at night. They were found on the ground and on elevated substrates such as trees, lianas, and inclined trunks. Most habitat records were in primary forest, often near streams or in swamps, but animals also occurred in roadside secondary growth and other disturbed habitats.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
