The lesser long-nosed bat ranges from Mexico into the southwestern United States and farther south in Central America. It feeds at flowers such as cacti and agaves.
Its tongue is about as long as its body and has fine brush-like tips for collecting nectar. Pollen can cling to its body hair.
It drinks nectar and carries pollen between flowers. It visits cacti and agaves, and roosts by day in caves or abandoned mines.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
