The Brazilian white-eared opossum is a marsupial from northern and eastern South America. Its white ears and dark line between the eyes stand out; it forages on the ground at night and can climb trees.
Many individuals have gray fur mixed with long white guard hairs, white ears, and a dark line between the eyes. Dark-coated individuals also occur.
It forages on the ground from dusk into the night and also climbs trees. During the day it may rest in tree hollows, under logs, or in burrows.
