This horseshoe bat is known from a small number of records in northeastern South Africa and Zimbabwe. Its original description gives the back as grayish-brown and the underside as the same color or only very slightly paler; it also reports miombo savanna and nearby riparian woodland and notes that the ecology is poorly known.

The few records include miombo savanna on Karoo sandstone and nearby riparian woodland. The original paper says the ecology is poorly known and no day roost had been found.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
