This bat is known from southern Madagascar. HMW describes lighter brown fur on the front of its back than on the middle and rear, and reports it as nocturnal. The cave records are capture locations for the known individuals.
The fur on the front of the back is lighter brown than on the middle and rear; the underside mixes pale and medium brown. The uropatagium has light spots.
HMW calls the species nocturnal. It reports that all individuals known to that account were caught in caves or their surroundings; this does not confirm cave roosting.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
